   Lately I've returned to playing IL2 online. There's no comparing the two sims. DCS is a steady sim and an fabulous work. But the pull with IL2 is the skills to fly in a massive life of other players, many of whom are coordinating tactics on Teamspeak. That is a thrill. Multiplayer on DCS is on the whole the exact same involvement as unattached musician in requital for me. Other than datalink transfers, there is nothing that ties a actor to others in the world.
